Would they pout, throw fits...cry? And so the names begin to emerge from the clear container. Everyone holds their breath...and the winner is...
Seven names called. Each time a name was called cheers erupted from the group. Not just cheers from parents, but from everyone. One winner gets high fives all the way to the stage from those whose names were not called.
I went home feeling like a winner even though no Boyers heard their name called. And really...every child in that room was a winner. They are winners because they hear and experience the love of Christ every Wednesday when they walk though our doors. The prizes...they might be around next year...but the prize of Jesus. It lasts a lifetime.
