One Three Letter Word

I am completely in awe each Wednesday as I drive home from the church.  I know with out a doubt that God shows up each week.  He provides the glue that weaves the chaos into a miracle.  It all boils down to a one three letter word.  A word that makes it all possible.  Three simple letters when combined make a ministry possible...that word...YES.

It starts with the director of all this commotion saying yes to all that want to come because who can turn even one away.  And so today I looked at the number and realized that all those yesses presented one issue.  How would we get them here?

So I call the one who might help and he says "YES, I have an idea".  Within minutes the church across town says Yes and all those little ones get on vans and busses to come.

One Yes just made the Kingdom a little larger.

...YES, I will lead some dance moves.

...YES, I can organize a mission group...to pack the food bags for those in need.

...YES, I will create a craft to go with the lesson, and get the supplies...and sing and teach God's word.

...YES, I will teach them to sew.

...YES, I will build a Gaga ball ring.  YES, I will stand in the heat and referee the game.

...YES, I will hold a hand.  YES, I will make the snacks and serve the food...drive the van...fill the jars with candy...help with pick-up.   YES, I'll teach or lead or wrangle the troops.  It's the word heroes are made of.

Abraham's yes built a nation.

Moses' yes led a people.

Paul's yes spread the Gospel.

I sit in the quiet and give thanks.  Thanks for those who long ago said yes...for those who said yes today.  Mostly I praise the One who said yes.  That one yes...from the lips of Jesus...led to the cross.  The one three little word still resounds today.  Its the YES that changed the world.
