Pinky promise? Remember when you were little using the pinkie promise as a symbol to let your friend know you meant it. This was serious stuff...the pinkie promise.
Godf gave us a symbol of a promise and it still stops me in my shoes when I see one. People point them out, take pictures, put them on facebook. Maybe it is because we don't see them too often...maybe its because when we see it we remember the promise. I walked toward the back of the church and looked toward the place where many are buried. A reminder of the promise...the colors hanging right across the sky. The promise that God would never flood the earth again is one I am thankful for but it is not the main reason I stand in awe gazing at the arch full of color. The main reason I stand fixed in my place is because I am reminded that God makes awesome promises. Promises that last thousands of years. And just when we might question if he remembers the promises he makes to us...it appears.
"He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever."--Psalm 146: 6
