Thursday evening worship is one of the highlights of the week. The preacher spoke about Paul's conversion experience...how God spoke to him. She talked about Ananias...how God asked him to go pray for Paul. Both men heard God. Both men had a change of direction in their lives.
Listening to God is a tough one. It's hard to explain because everyone experiences God's voice in different ways. It seems the world is constantly trying to tell us who we are...who God is or isn't. Wading through that is difficult especially for young people.
This week at camp has been an opportunity to get away from the message of the world and focus on the message of Jesus. Miracles have happened this week. Young people have heard God speak to them. Hearts have been changed. Seeds have been planted.
Bradley said, "he's had the best time of his life". The one who was ready to go home on Monday afternoon prayed for his cabin during worship tonight. One or our little ones told her story to the entire camp.
Tomorrow we return. We look the same on the outside, but we're different. We're like Paul and Ananias. We've heard God speak and our direction is changing. You might notice it right away. You might not notice it until years from now. The book of Isaiah says that God's word goes forth, and it will not return void. It will accomplish all that it was set out to achieve.
Tomorrow we will break bread together, so until then...lights out.
