I wanted to take just a
moment to give you some information about next year’s children’s program as we
bring this year’s program to a close.
First, as most of you know
we are currently looking for a Director of Children’s Ministry here at First
UMC. It has been an honor and blessing to serve on the staff of this church for
some twenty years, and I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful it is to share God's love with the children in our programs. We were hoping to find someone to lead our
children’s ministry this spring, but currently we are still looking for someone
for this position. While we look for a Director of Children’s
Ministry I will continue to lead the ministry with the help of an assistant. We
are currently looking to fill the position of assistant to Children and Youth ministries as well, which will begin
in August.
Many of you have been
asking about registration for next year. We will not begin registration until
mid-June for current students and their siblings as well as Methodist Readiness
School students. Some big changes are coming for next year in the Children’s
and Youth ministries of our church, and we’re not quite ready to “let the cat
out of the bag.” We are working hard to
complete the final details of the program by the first week of June.
I’m very excited about the
work God is doing in the lives of the children who come to our church. I’m even
more excited about what the future holds as we continue to step out in faith
and find new opportunities to share the Gospel with the kids of our church and
community.

A few final reminders:
Our
last day is May 24th and we will be skating at Skateland USA. Please
pick your child up at the skating rink. Money for roller blades ($3.00) and or
games is all the money required. (Roller skates and snacks are provided.)
The
deadline for camp registration is quickly approaching. Please go to
lakeviewmcc.org to register your child for camp. You will need a coupon code
upon registration. Contact me to get the code.
